Share Our Strength's Great American Dine Out urges Americans to eat out September 21-28 and fight childhood hunger in America

From September 21-28, more than 3,700 restaurants across the United States will donate a percentage of their sales to Share Our Strength.

This fall, Share Our Strength®, a national organization leading the fight to end childhood hunger in America, will launch the first annual Share Our Strength's Great American Dine Out presented by American Express. From September 21-28, more than 3,700 restaurants across the United States will donate a percentage of their sales to Share Our Strength.

During this special week, people in cities and towns across the nation can dine at their favorite restaurants and help raise thousands of dollars for this important cause—ending childhood hunger. "More than 12 million children in United States are often unsure when their next meal will come," says Debbie Shore, co-founder and associate director, Share Our Strength. "We can all help by doing what we'd normally do—buy a sandwich for lunch or enjoy dinner at one of our participating restaurants. Just by eating out, you will help feed children and families across America."

"This event provides an opportunity for families to help those in need while spending time together at their local restaurants."

This inaugural event brings together the nation's entire restaurant industry—from coffee shops to fine- dining establishments. Participating restaurants include: Corner Bakery, Legal Sea Foods, Buffalo Wild Wings, Caribou Coffee, Elephant Bar and Restaurant, Joe's Crab Shack, The Melting Pot, Famous Dave's, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants and thousands more.
